New How-To Brush Lettering Zine by Bill Rebholz covering the nuts and bolts of Brush Lettering in a traditional Block/Egypt/Gothic style. HIgh quality design, illustration and printing from the yung designer on the rise. Bill’s cataloged an impressive body of work over the past few years and has worked with clients such as Red Bull, Kmart, Great Clips, 3rd Street Brewing & PRI, among others.
This zine seems to be comfortably situated at the intersection of Bill’s strong suits of illustration, hand painted lettering an design and allows him to flex on all levels; the zine functions as a portfolio and showpiece of his diverse and highly-tuned skill sets. Even the multi-colored Risograph printing is impressive. The zine is a primer covering the basics of the art of brush lettering and comes with an illustrated guide as well as several practice alphabets. Additionally it covers lettering Effects, Spacing and even how to turn your hand lettered alphabets into digital files.
For anyone interested in lettering this is a treat. For anyone interested in learning to get their hands dirty hand painting some letters, this is a must have.

New Zine Happy Hour by Greg Lamarche available at Trifecta Editions. Greg is a Queens, NYC native and veteran of the American Graf scene. His works on paper, predominantly collage, have been shown in fine art galleries across the globe since 1999 and his ealry graffiti magazine Skills both raised the bar and set the standard for publications of the sort for decades to come.
Happy Hour is a fourteen page screen printed compilation of SP. One sketches, never-before-seen photographs and snippets of paper ephemera from Greg’s studio on heavy french card stock paper and printed in full color. Trifecta Editions has put together a classy pack for the zine and had it shipped for free to me within days of placing my order, for which I salute them.
SP.’s been working in an old school mode of late paying homage to the Graf styles of the late seventies in his pieces and this collection of outline’s & throws is a fusion of new and old. While anyone expecting Greg to pull some gem’s out of his archive of rare flicks will be disappointed (there’s only one or two of them), anyone who’s a fan of his recent bubbly work will want to grab a copy of the zine while they can. High quality work by a high caliber contemporary artist. Visit his shop for more. Hit him up here: email@example.com
